Prospects for the future

In April 2023 we were approached by a lady from India who wanted to come to us as a volunteer for a longer period of time. We then explained that she was required to study the Thai language for a couple of years as it is not possible to work with us without speaking Thai. Apart from that it is very difficult to obtain a residence permit. And so her request was in fact rejected. However, she had other ideas. Early this year she came to Thailand to study the language intending to come and work for us in the future. As she lives here in town, we have the chance to get to know her and make plans for the future together.

In October she visited all three families in order to meet the colleagues and the girls and to learn about the daily life in Baan Phak Phing. The girls enjoyed playing games with her and they tried to speak English to her, communicating in Thai or using hands and feet if that proved too difficult. I must say her Thai is already quite good as she is a quick and dedicated student. We are looking forward to the future when she will be able to come and teach English and help with accounting.

We don’t know how everything will work out, but at the moment everybody is enthusiastic.
